B2B application for tourism providers at IFA

For the IFA consumer electronics trade show 2011 (Berlin, 2 to 7 September), Falk  Content & Internet Solutions will be presenting an app showcase for the B2B sector for the first time. The product is called TravelFinder. It is an app which has been developed specifically for tour operators, internet service providers, travel agencies and hotel chains and also for other companies involved in the travel industry such as airlines, bus and rail operators and car rental firms. The application can be individually tailored to the particular partner and, depending on the requirements, contains different content as well as bookable offers from the provider. For customer connectivity, the application can also be expanded to include interactive Falk travel guides for the respective destination area.

The travel app for tourism companies
The comprehensive mobility solutions from Falk offer consumers focused guidance when they are travelling. With the TravelFinder, Falk is for the first time specifically targeting B2B companies in the area of mobile apps. Traditional tour operators, travel agencies, travel portals or even hotels or transport companies benefit from this new Falk product. With specific holiday deals and the travel guides from Falk, travel providers can stay in contact with their customers even while they are on holiday, can offer additional booking options and strengthen their links with the consumer with a comprehensive travel solution. The TravelFinder from Falk allows tourism companies to expand their marketing channels and deliver real added value to their customers. The application is specifically tailored to the particular needs of the tourism providers, whether it be through the integration of dedicated content and corporate branding or customisation of the range of functions of the basic version or the travel guides.

Range of functions of the app
The TravelFinder consists of two components - of real value for users and providers. The basic version already includes offers and content from the tourism provider, such as hotels which can be selected via an interactive map, a choice of region and a radius search function. In addition, the link to the booking platform of the travel provider and a route planning function is integrated. The information can constantly be kept up to date via regular data updates. The basic version is available for consumers to download in the respective App Stores. As soon as a customer has booked a trip with their tour operator using their smartphone or computer, they then receive a corresponding promotion code. They can then redeem this in their TravelFinder app and thus activate additional guides for the destination they are travelling to. These travel guides from Falk then help travellers to plan their holidays when they are at their destination with multimedia content, such as individual route planning and picture galleries or information about places of interest. The downloadable travel guides are thus first-class companions for end consumers and ideal tools which allow tourism companies to retain links with customers in the area of after sales.

"Travel bookings made via the internet are booming and the use of smartphones is steadily rising. With our new app for tour operators and travel-based companies, we are taking account of this trend," comments Dr. Frank Mair, managing director of Falk CIS. "With this individualisable app, we support the travel providers with their customer retention measures and offer them an innovative model for generating additional sales."
